QCD eligibility checker

Answer a few questions about the account, the charity and the timing. The tool tells you if the gift is a QCD (money sent straight from your IRA to a charity at 70½ or older, not taxed as income, up to a yearly limit), or what to confirm when it can't say yes or no. It shows how much counts, why, and the IRS or tax-law source for each rule.

These are being built and tested. They go live once someone else has checked their math.

  • QCD vs. stock vs. cash. It shows what the same gift really costs you after tax, for one tax year. Stock here means appreciated stock (stock or fund shares now worth more than you paid for them) held more than a year.
  • Bunching (giving several years of gifts in one year so they are big enough to deduct) planner. Say you put several years of gifts into one year. Does that beat the standard deduction (the flat amount most people can subtract from income without listing costs)? It checks that under the 2026 rules.
